Omg Horrible Grades

anyone???

What exactly has kept your GPA down? Are you lazy or do you just have difficulty with school work? My advice depends on what the circumstances are. :)

I only know one person who got into Adelphi. She had around a B- average, so higher than you, but she had A LOT of C’s and maybe even D’s. Also, I think she may have gotten in the low-ish to medium 500’s for her SAT sections. I am not sure, but you may have a shot there. She auditioned for their theatre program though, so I don’t know if that helped her.

As for Hofstra, I happen to not think that it is as competitive as people here make it out to be. I know people who have received low 500’s/high 400’s on their math SAT (not sure about reading) and have gotten in as transfers with B-ish gpa’s. Transfer admissions are different, but I don’t think that they are THAT different. Unless they just squeezed in, I don’t see why it wouldn’t at least be a reach for you. Just apply and see what happens.

Also, try SUNY Farmingdale. You will probably get in there.

Oh, and I think that Manhattan College may be a reach, but your legacy status
may bump you (I don’t know much about legacy stuff).

you might get into adelphi but railoraine is right hofstra is a reach and im not even applying there but dont go to a community college ive heard good things about st thomas go there, work hard and transfer to hofstra

3 family members went to Manhattan, my dad my uncle and my cousin

hey sara123,
if ur willing to attend any colleges in new jersey, you can deff find some.
My grades are kinda like urs but i have a slighty higher SAT score…but umm..deff give Pace University a try…i kno i am…just write a killer essay:]

thanks anyone else with some info??

i thought hof wansnt that hard

Why don’t you try CUNY?

il already applied to all the schools im going to apply to i just want those chances

whats order of hardest to get into, to easiest in admissions on my list?

College is not for everyone.
But you can try community colleges ^.^
(Someone is going to kill me later on…)

It’s just that, even if you get in, do you think you can handle the work?

yea i just wanna kno my chances of those schools i posted above

you already have 7 pages worth of chances more than most people get…how much more do you want…all you can do know is wait.

Why don’t you try moving to California and become a resident. If you can do that and attend a California community college, I will have a very good shot at the UCs, and you don’t even need the SATs(schools outside of California usually require SATs for transfers). I had many friends who’s grades were less then ideal in high school. And guess what, they all transfered to UC Berkeley, one of the nation’s top research schools.

is it really over!!?!

If you really what to know your chances, get a copy of the US world and news official guide. It has all the stats for admitted students of every college in the US.

yea sure pal
