OMG I didn't title my essay!

Okay, so maybe this is a stupid thing to freak out over....or maybe it's NOT a stupid think to freak out over!

We've all made mistakes on our applications, no matter how many times we review them over and over. What kind of errors have your apps had? From spelling errors to grammar errors to HUGE MISTAKES!

i thought you're not supposed to title your essay, i wouldn't worry about, good luck.

It's not necessary to title your essays.

i gotta worse one

after sending in my essay, i looked over the file that i had printed from

right in the middle of the page was the phrase

"later than night"
(instead of later that night)

shouldn't matter too much, i like to think it proves I'm human, but still...ugh

I wrote my essay on the last day and since it is in dialogue form.. i havnt put the """"" in the right places.. i hope they like the essay and forget the punctuation marks!

I didn't title my essays either. That's silly.

I actually dont think I made any mistakes on my app. I promised myself I wouldn't read it after I sent it so I wouldn't stress, but yesterday I printed a copy for my records and flipped through it. Everything looked fine to me.

For my UMich application, I had all uploaded files and didn't realize each one needed a name and the topic until the last minute. That was aa really close one :-P I was about to press submit, and then since I had all the tabs open anyway decided to check the instructions again...

...you know, if I were using a non-tabbed browser like Internet Explorer, I would've just hit submit. Thank goodness for Mozilla Firefox.

Common app's directions say that you should title a "topic of your choice" essay.

'Your application is incomplete if you do not complete your essay. Please do not submit online until your entire application is complete. This personal statement helps us become acquainted with you in ways different from courses, grades, test scores, and other objective data. It will demonstrate your ability to organize thoughts and express yourself. We are looking for an essay that will help us know you better as a person and as a student. Please write an essay (250-500 words) on a topic of your choice or on one of the options listed below.
Also, please indicate your topic by checking the appropriate box below."

No they don't. At least not online...
Even so, I doubt a college would care if you forgot to title an essay. There are more important things to worry about.

I honestly had so many people read my essay and I swear I ran it through spell check. Reading over it later I realized I had spelled possibly "possibily."

dammit, i didnt title my umich essay:[

I didn't really title my essays. But since I sent my application in I haven't looked over it or any of my essays. I don't want to know if I made any stupid mistakes, otherwise it would drive me crazy. (or as one of my teachers says "drive me crackers!")

strappleberry: for the online UMich application, you didn't need a title, but you did need your name and the essay prompt on the word document. If you go to the preview pdf, you'll see why, the documents are just attached at the end.
