Omg I just got an email for an interview!

I turned my app in online on sat and I was contacted for an interview this morning. Has anyone else been contacted?

SERIOUSLY??? DAMN i submitted my app on the 29th and i’m still waiting…
u turned ur app online on sat? last saturday? u sure? wow that sure is quick
hmmmm weird

Yeah, that’s very quick and unusual, maybe its alphabetically or by area.

Ahhh have fun have fun have fun!!!
That’s so exciting!

Yea I sumbitted it this past sat, Halloween. I was suprised that I got a response so quicky too! I think it’s because like no one from my area has applied to Yale in the longest time (according to the adcom for this area at an info session.) I live like 1/2 an hour away from Ithaca, so if ppl think ivy, they think Cornell.

Aghhh I’m nervous now!

u guys didnt go to school?

How do they contact people generally? I’m not so hot about them calling up my home phone :D

I have no school today

dang that was fast!

hey when did u get ur ELI account? i mean how long was it til u got an interview? i just got my ELI account yesterday and i’m dying to get an interview

I haven’t gotten my ELI account yet :frowning: but I know that my app was downloaded by Yale early yesterday morning ( when I checked) so I guess they just sent my info straight to the alum and since I live in a small town with no Yale applicants, I was contacted right away. It’ll probably take a while for me to get an ELI account considering the last minute rush

Congrats! I had an on campus interview, and I heard that once that occurs, you are put at the end of the list for regional interviews. Be yourself and have fun and you will be supery dee dupery!!

Wow, that IS fast! Not sure if I’ll get an interview. It depends how far the interviewer will drive.

2010emily, it’s been a while! We miss you! <3

My brother handed his app in mid-October so even though he already had his on-campus interview, he was immediately called up for an alumni interview :] I’m just a procrastinator and handed everything in on Saturday lol.
Then again, we live really close to Yale so I suppose there are probably tons of alumni available to interview applicants!

I got mine last night.

My interview is tomorrow! I’m nervous!

trying to make a list of questions to ask him…

or should u prepare for the questions he’ll ask you?

Aww don’t be nervous! Be excited!
Definitely ask him what his favorite memories of Yale were, it’s a fun question!
Just a tip, keep the conversation flowing and he won’t even have to ask you too many questions!

Demiitasse, have you already been through it?

I had a summer on-campus interview, which was super fun! (Also, I was soo excited I only slept from 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. lmaoo, but I wasn’t tired the next day, just extra bubbly!)
And I have a twin brother who also had the on campus interview with a senior undergraduate at Yale, and since he handed his application in mid-Oct (unlike me, the procrastinator lol), he had an alumni interview too, and it went really smoothly!
Basically, just have fun and make it a conversation! You’re the expert on yourself, and that’s what the whole convo is about!
Good luck Cantwaitfor2010!!
