OMG i'm in:) likely letter!!

Alright, I guess I won’t bother. Thanks. Also, beebs14, there are a bunch of people who haven’t gotten the shirt yet at my school. Maybe they give them out at the end of the year? Idk.

I’m happy to vouch that beebs14 isn’t a ■■■■■ - he’s my brother. soproudofhimsquee The low post count is just a result of the fact that he never bothered signing up for collegeconfidential until the letters started coming in - what’s so weird about that?

Does anyone know how columbia likelies fare at HYPS admissions?

^ Probably very very well!! I know the OP was deferred Yale SCEA, so that gives you some answers.

Haha, collegestress, you’re hilarious  deferred=very very well chance?

Ahem… at least its better than a rejection!!! Wasn’t columbia admission rate 10% and HYP around 7-9%? Probably many cross admits! Pigs, if given a choice would you choose Yale over Columbia?

does anyone no when likelies are sent out?

k, do these likelies come via email or snail mail or both?

i just got a notice from the postoffice to come and pick up an international letter…
hope its a likely from somewhere!!!

have any international students received a likely letter from Columbia?

^yes, read through the posts

I didn’t know where to add this but I just received a likely to Columbia College, and I’m an international - it’s by email and regular mail.
So CC (Columbia College) likelies are now being sent out
Mine’s academic, I guess.
Congratulations to everyone who received one! Those who didn’t, I still hope you get in when final decisions are released. :)

^Yale deferees UNITE!!

^^ i know, right!? :D

maybe we’ll meet next year!

^ add me to that list  yay for deferrees!

It seems like likelies are being sent out to numbers-strong applicants…

a question for those who got likelies…are the SAT scores you listed here superscored?? Or do you at least have other scores that are lower?

I’m wondering because superscore-wise, my scores are as good as some of yours but individually, not so much…and I have 2 subject test which are 700+ but I also have some in the 600s…I know they say they look at the highest, but I’m too anxious to take that at face-value.

You cannot say out of the blue that likely letters are based on stats. First of all, you haven’t seen any of the likely recipients’ applications. And those who receive likely letters obviously have high stats in the first place. Likely letters are reserved for the top of the applicant pool.

iCalculus…that is why I said, “it seems like”…and plus I wouldn’t say I made that speculation “out of the blue.” Looking at some of the recipients’ ECs, it seems like scores were a bigger factor.
