OMG IM SO MAD- grades venting thread

Freshmen - two grades came out today, science = A+ and then math = B+.

Soooo annoyed.

He apparently did not curve well enough for me to get an A.

1) Why do colleges hire graduate students who can barely speak English to teach math.

I AM SOOO MAD. I got a B+.

He ruined my GPA.

Time to write his end of the semester review.

So this thread is for venting

Ok for college, a B+ is good. Plus that’s math. And stop acting like a drama queen. An A+ and a B+ is like a 3.75. I wouldn’t actually call that a “ruined gpa” And he curves it how he wants to, teachers don’t curve it for your amusement. And finally, in life you are going to have to deal with situations where there is a communication barrier. If you didn’t understand him, then you should have asked from him/her to clarify. Since you didn’t ask, you don’t do well, so it’s actually your fault.

I’m sorry, but I find it extremely hilarious that you would go into college expecting a perfect 4.0 on the other side.

You’re right, OP, you’re definitely entitled to get an A instead of a B+.

“He apparently did not curve well enough for me to get an A.”

The fact that you were curved to just a B+ meant that there were enough students who scored higher than you that your grade rests at a B+.

Angry? Then be the best in your class next term.

Yes, the way I worded it sounds bad, but i poured countless hours studying for this class.

"Angry? Then be the best in your class next term. "

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

I am going to start studying for next semester courses during winter break.

efforts dont pay the rent

btw what university do you go to?

its under the top universities section of CC (not an ivy)

rather not say name ;)

I wish I could see the raw test grade, because I was aligned to receive an A.

Maybe you should study a little harder and you wouldn’t need a curve. To say a B+ ruined your gpa is a little ridiculous.

it ruined my goal GPA = 4.0

Oh, please…“it ruined my GPA!” “he ruined my GPA!” How about you take responsibility for your own GPA? You will survive with a B+ in your first semester.

■■■■■, I love how nobody’s “venting” with the OP, but rather calling him out.

I can understand the OP. I suffered the same dilemma.

You should probably blame yourself for not studying hard enough I guess

Oh, you want an A for effort. For a second there I thought we were talking about college. That was my bad.

I have a slight feeling this could be a ■■■■■ thread, but regardless, welcome to college. You earn your grades. They’re not handed to you on a silver platter for mere effort. If you received a B+, accept it as it is, vow to do better next semester, and move on.

[cheer up kiddo](<a href=“Winter Wonderland Sing-a-Long - YouTube”>Winter Wonderland Sing-a-Long - YouTube)

I understand, I was pretty upset that one person got a higher score than me on the bio final. But you shouldn’t worry, a 4.0 in college is exceedingly rare, nothing like high school.

Wait is the OP the same guy who had a thread a while back about how his roommate was going to be a failure in corporate america because he didnt pick his boxers off the floor?

In ether case OP needs to chill. Its undergrad. Its only slightly more meaningful then high school in terms of mattering for your future. (Or dont and continue posting hilarious first world problem threads).

blah blah blah, whine whine whine
