Omg, my CR went down 40pts...

I took the PSAT last year and I got a 46 on CR and this year I got a 42. I've read quite a lot since this year and I expected higher... My vocabulary is at least 3x better than last year's I would say. My math and CR are okay and can be improved easily I think.

HOW DO I IMPROVE CR???? IT SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE! I didn't even know what inevitable meant last year and barely read any books.. (I never started reading until last year. I'd probably read <1 book in previous years).

CR just kicks my ass...

My total score went up by 7 (~70) pts though...

Do a lot of practice tests. Maybe try to read similar stuff to what’s in the CR passages. They key is to read more challenging material. I’d reccommend reading the New York Times, or National Geographic, or whatever interests you as long as it’s good quality stuff. Keep studying vocabulary! This is the trick to understanding the passages as well as the sentence completions.

my CR also went down this year - from a 73 to a 71.. Personally I thought this test was much much more difficult (CR at least), which might be why you scored lower.

Read a dictionary/long list of words in the form of a dictionary.

^ Hardcore solution.

my cr went up 56 to an 80 ^^
i just practiced reading for two weeks
