OMG!! nervous!!! can i get into UT-austin fall 2010

ok so i'm a texas resident but i'm a freshman at LSU. my dad is sick of paying out of state fees so he wants this to be my last year LSU.
bad news...
i sucked my first semester!!! i got swine flu and got c's in three of my classes because i couldn't perform to the best of my ability (swine flu sucks!!).
my major is biology.
GPA 2.5 :(
one letter of rec for note taking for disabilities

i'm planning on busting my butt this semester, but if i get a 4.0 this spring semester my final GPA will be a 3.2 :(
i know i can do better i just wish i hadn't gotten sick!!!!
btw does the second semester grades count? (i hope so)
and also does summer classes count? ( i doubt it, just in case i plan on retaking some classes)
anyways i plan on getting another letter of rec this spring semester for note taking.

so what are my chances of getting into the college of natural sciences at UT-Austin?

thanks for the help, and sorry for the long note.

I’m in the EXACT same boat as you for UT Austin, except I’m just coming from a different school.
Please Chance!

To be honest, it will be a reach based on your GPA, since UT-Austin transfer admissions are almost entirely GPA based.

If you have a high SAT score, that might help you out some.

it says they don’t check SATs for transfers

My bad. Good luck to you!

is the GPA good enough for the college of natural sciences?

Natural Sciences is an open college along with Liberal Arts, so they are typically the easiest colleges to transfer to. However, a GPA of 3.2 is borderline, as most applicants and transfers have a 3.5+ So realistically, your chances aren’t great. But do give it a shot!!!
