jeez. This Janurayr bio test was nonsensly hard.
I even studied pr and barrons, and some parts
in my school textbook.

wait, after studying all that, what did you get?

I got 700 on November one..which was quite hard..
Maybe i didn't fully memorize...
how did 800 people study bio??

I used Kaplan, and was a bit less than halfway through AP bio at the time, and got an 800.

I'm just very good at memorizing and I love bio, so those factors must've helped too. Just try and remember everything.

i took a Principles of Biology class at a local community college.. the credit will be weighted as an AP at my high school.. do you think it's as rigorous (also, don't immediately knock on community colleges.. i do not planon attending after i graduate, but for a high schooler,i think it's decent).. also,i just turned 16. and the class was last semester (i guess it covered a whole year of stuff though..we didn't go to heavily into the chemistry aspect..but well, it wasn't a biochem class).. do you think that was good prep? text used: Life On Earth

i'm looking for a bio test prep book now.. any suggestions? there are soo many..

****! I'm only taking High School (Pre-IB) Biology and planning to take the SAT II in June. Now I'm worried.

People who got 800 on bio this January,

HOW DID YOU STUDY??

If the pool of test takers is as competent as other groups it doesn't matter how hard the test is. Those who score the best will still get 800. That's part of what a scaled score is.

i was halfway through ap bio and used the princeton review book --> 780

I read sparknotes the night before. Seriously, lol.

But I've been pretty big on bio for a long time - I was going to self-study the AP last year - so I've read through most of the Campbell text over the past year and a half or so, which has got to help somehow. I can't help you as much for short-term cramming...but I did take a quick practice test out of PR and it seemed accurate.

(Also, I think that the January test had a super-lenient curve.)

PR + Barron's + Sparknotes + doing your own notes + 9 practice tests + love for Biology + lenient curve = 800 (Jan. 07)

My god, you gave way too much attention to the SAT IIs. They're not that important, I mean, you could have been eating or sleeping or having fun or doing all three of those things at once in the time it took to do all that studying!

I read Kaplan's for about 2 weeks, and I don't recommend giving yourself such little time. A bit more would be good.

Haha... I did all those things in about 1 month (started studying at Christmas break). Not much time at all, just really crammed.

uhh... i didn't even plan to take bio last january, but because i stupidly screwed up physics, i haphazardly chose to take bio. Of course, i didn't even study for bio AT ALL(though I'm taking AP bio and we're half way through), i managed to get 760.. i think that's good considering how I didn't even study/review. so I guess 800 might be obtainable if one has some background knowledge on bio and studies a bit for SAT2. lol.

took 10th grade normal biology class--school wouldn't allow for me to take higher, but didn't learn crap but how to waste 1.5 hours of my life every school day. + outlining whole text book in the summer (only about 50 pages of notes b/c the book was a piece of crap) + LOVE FOR BIOLOGY--definitely need that-- + Barrons/Kaplan = 800.

ohhh yeah, not that many ppl got 800s on the Jan test. it's only like me and I<3Pi. It just looks like a lot b/c we keep on posting it everywhere. hahahha.

Yeah go us!

So what should i study with for BIO?

i only with kaplan's for about two weeks taking hrs. bio as a freshman-->760, an ok score. Kaplan's overprepares you a little but it's worth it.
