OMG guys! I'm so tired of getting calls from students like "Christi at the University of Michigan" and "Kyle at Iowa State" asking to talk to me about my acceptance and answer my questions about the university.

Today Lindsey from Michigan State called me and she said "So are you pretty set on Michigan State at this point?" and I said "I'm going to Emory!!" and hung up. Then I felt bad.

But these people need to stop calling. It's soooooo awkward.

Ehh it doesn’t bother me all that much. Except for the fact that I’ve pretty much gotten a call from EVERY school I got accepted to EXCEPT the one I’m actually going to.

The only thing I hate is at the end when they always say “So, do you have any questions about the university or any questions in general?” I never do and then I’m all “uhhhh I don’t think? but thanks!” and I always feel bad hanging up.

Lol U of M is relentless. MSU called me a few times but it was mostly people from my Residential College. U of M was calling me almost every week at one point. I pretty harshly told them I wasn’t going to their school and I only got one call after that.

^^UofM used to call my sister every other week. One week OSU, one week UofM. Students, professors, anyone. And then she was like, “I’m not going to either one fo you guys!”

I’ve only had one semi-unwanted call, from OSU, like “will you complete your application?” The girl who called was really nice though, when I said no, and seemed genuinely interested in what my other options were.
Besides that, Ive been called by MIT, Georgetown, and UChicago. UChicago has called me twice, as of April 1, when they called me a second time, since I can go to their admit weekend for free for some reason. I guess they’re paying for my trip and calling me to come because they’d like for me to do so? I probably will though, now that I definitely won’t be attending Yale’s bulldog days. I get to visit my sister.

The only school that called me relentlessly was University of Oregon. I never answered and they always left messages on my answering machine. Then one day my sister picked up so I had to talk =/ It was so awkward. Like, what am I supposed to ask? It’s kind of strange to be discussing college with a random stranger and bombarding them with your questions.

Hahahah honestly the only reason I asked questions was because I felt bad. I’d say dumb stuff like “Soooo how’s the weather on campus?” and then they would ramble on and on with a day-by-day weather recap of the past week.

I’m sooo not answering any more of those phone calls. =/

not to hijack the thread (sorry!!) but leila, did you ever get a call from anyone at Indiana? They’re the only people I actually WANT to get a call from…

I gave the colleges my moms phone number. I talked to one of them before and it was awkward. From then on I told my mom to tell the people who call that I am not here. X D
