Omg!!!

How important are 1st semester senior year grades for schools like:
Pomona, Cornell, NYU, JHU, USC, Emory, Claremont, BU? Cause I'm taking the hardest courseload possible this year (5 APs) and I think I'm going to end up with a C in Physics AP...and like 2 B's in my other classes...but my overall GPA would still be about a 4.2~4.3...Guys...I'm REALLY scared..because what if I get flat out rejected because of these first semester senior year grades?!

I feel the same way. I might end up with a C in Calc AB and 2 B's in two other AP's. However my other 3 classes are still A's.

First semester grades senior year are important in the RD round because they will be the grades listed on your midyear report. It shows your mot recent performance.

It does not matter where you are applying to school keeping an upward trend and doing well is important (even after you have been admitted because your admission is conditional). IF you are on an upward trend, keeping good grades first semester senior year at minimum shows that you maintaining.

If you are applying to a "selective" school it is in your best interest to continue to take most rigerous couses your school offers and to continue to do well.
