OMG I've never been so happy... I'm SHAKING.

"Dear XXXX:

Congratulations! The Committee on Admission is pleased to offer you admission to the College of Arts & Sciences at Washington University for the Spring 2008 semester. The Committee’s decision reflects our regard for your academic and personal achievements to date. We are confident that you have much to contribute to the University community.

You will receive follow-up correspondence from the dean’s office, which will include advising and registration information and the name of your contact person should you have any questions. If you are currently enrolled in classes, please ask the registrar at your current school to forward a final transcript to the appropriate dean’s office at Washington University as soon as those classes have been completed. Please note that your admission is contingent on successful completion of the current semester at your institution.

If you are an applicant for financial assistance, you will receive information from the Office of Student Financial Services after your paperwork is complete in that office. If you have any questions about financial assistance, please call the Office of Student Financial Services at (888) 547-6670 or (314) 935-5900 or e-mail the office at financial@wustl.edu.

We have enclosed an Enrollment Deposit Form with instructions regarding the procedure for responding to our offer of admission. The deadline for the non-refundable $200 enrollment deposit is stated on the enrollment form. If you have applied for financial assistance, your assistance award may provide you with a later response deadline for the enrollment deposit, in which case you may disregard the date on the enclosed enrollment form.

Once again, congratulations on your admission to Washington University. We are fortunate to have established a community of talented, interesting, and able students and we look forward to your joining us.

Sincerely,

Nanette H. Tarbouni,
Director of Admissions

congrats sanjenferrer! are you going to go to wash u for sure or are you going to wait for your other responses?
have you gotten a call from the dean’s office yet? i got a call from the associate dean today, but i havent gotten anything in the mail about the decision.

thank you thank you thank you.
I actually just found out online… I was at a coffeeshop checking my status, not expecting anything to be up since the decision wasn’t up this morning when I checked. All of a sudden, I saw two links that popped up “Check online decision” and “Check enrollment status.” I started shaking… I clicked frantically on the decision, and then another link to view my letter then searched frantically for my phone to call my mom! omg, I had never been so excited. She was so happy as well! I’m still so excited right now… I have this huge smile on my face that won’t go away : ) everyone around me at the cafe was weirded out, I’m guessing, but I didn’t care. I never expected to react this way… tears of joy? yea, i can finally say i’ve had that.

My app, btw, was listed as complete by Oct. 19, so that gives you an idea of how long the decision takes.
I received no phone call from the dean’s office. What did they tell you?

hmm, my application was listed as “complete” october 17. but i dont have any options like “check online decision” or “check enrollment status.” under “check to see if your application is complete,” it says that a decision will be mailed.
well, i wasnt able to answer the phone when the dean’s office called, but she did leave a message. it was something like: “im one of the members of the committee that considers transfer admissions. and youre obviously a very strong student and we’re delighted that youre still interested in washington university. um my goal is with transfers… that theyre never going to regret their decision…so in that spirit, id like to talk to you a little bit”
hmm, im confused and a bit worried…

so i was able to talk to the assistant dean and she just wanted to clear up something i had written in my essay. when i asked her if i got in, she said something like “you’ll get your packet in the mail in a couple of days. you’ll be a great asset to our community.” so i guess thats kind of an indirect yes???!!!

p.s. sanjenferrer: sorry ive been posting on your thread!
