I've been at CC for past few years after an 8 year educational gap. I've recently applied to the UC/ Last week I got an email from one UC to explain the gap in education I have. This week another asked to explain the gap and if I enrolled in any other school between the date of my High School Graduation.

Here is the thing, after High School I enrolled in a CC and ended up dropping out. While I didn't have any issues just omitting this, I don't want to out right lie about it. If I did I would also surely be caught and have any acceptance rescinded, I'm sure.

Am I going to be okay if I let them know that I did enroll, but withdrew midway? What should I do? Incredibly stressed about this situation I put myself in through my negligence.

When applying to colleges, whether or not you have an ‘issue’ with a requirement doesn’t matter; omitting a requirement is an ‘outright lie’.

Call up the school, tell them your situation, and ask them what you should do to make your application complete.

Looks like I can log into my application to add updates and I was able to get a record of my transcript from the old school with my ssn and dob. So I guess I will update my application and respond to the email to explain the gap, informing them of the school enrollment and that the application has been updated to reflect it.

edit* scratch that. Trying to update colleges attended and it’s giving me the error message “The start date and end date must be within the acceptable Start and End Dates.” Will send the email and I guess make some calls.
