Omitting a Community College Class on my UC App

In my freshman year I took a guitar class at the nearby junior college because it was cheaper than any private lessons I could find. The grade was based entirely on attendance, and I missed several classes because it occasional conflicted with swim practice, which took priority. I never intended to have it as an actual class, but now I have it as a D (due to my poor attendance) on my record at the junior college. I've since taken other classes at the college, and I need to submit them on my application, but I'd like to omit the guitar class because of the poor grade and the fact that I never considered it a legitimate course in the first place. Is this alright? I suppose I could just include it and then explain the class in the "other comments" section too.

So you want to omit a course because you didn’t get a good grade, does that sound ‘alright’ to you?

Actually, since you need to submit an official transcript from the college, you have no options, the class and grade will be on the transcript.

I would’t worry much about it and wouldn’t go to too much effort to try to explain it, it’s not like it’s an academic class. However, this is a good lesson to learn–your college record stays with you.

Yea, I suppose it was just wishful thinking. My mom actually put me in the class without realizing it could have any impact. She’ll probably be a lot more flustered by it than I am.

My local community college has a program where you can remake some classes, or something of that nature. Look into their programs and maybe you can have that grade replaced by taking the class again?
