So if I attended this university for about a month few years back without any financial aid (no FAFSA). I never earned credits other than W’s because I had to move out of state for some family issue. Since I never got any credit or financial aid from going there for a month, can I omit this school when it comes to applying to other universities? In their records system, they don’t even have my social security number (long story).
you can roll the dice and bet they did not give your name to the National Student Database. If you are right, nobody knows. If you are wrong you are quickly caught and rescinded from any college that accepts you.
Which university? During HS? After HS?
Do not roll any dice! If you attended a uni as a freshman already, and withdrew, you cannot omit and you are not a freshman.
If you come to CC thinking that you will get support for lying on your application (and yes, omitting a school is lying) then I think you are mistaken.
I think you will get caught because of the national database. I’d fess up. A full semester of Ws because you moved isn’t the worst transcript you could have. Put a note in your app explaining.
I’m kinda in the same boat but yeah, you should really report all of your grades.
Again – admissions people aren’t totally unreasonable. You didn’t fail your classes, you had an extenuating circumstance where you had to leave your school. Explain briefly in your application.
This is part of your permanent academic record. Send the transcript.
You want to risk not being admitted to other universities?
They will wonder what ELSE you omitted.
