<p>UIC may not be the best example to use. UIC in its current form did not exist until 1982. The two campuses were separate schools (UIMC and UICC) until then. UICC was founded in 1962. UIMC adopted that name in the 1940s. The schools mostly joined the University of IL in the late 1890s. The oldest unit is the EEI (ear and eye institute) which was founded in 1847 and the oldest academic unit is the College of Pharmacy founded in 1849.</p>
<p>UIC alumni magazine actually had a feature on Mary Dillon a little while ago. For me, I have a degree which is only offered at UIC, and so, the issue of preciseness of which campus is not that big of an issue.</p>
