I'm using the common app and I want to omit some of by standardized test scores and only report the good ones. Now, my school also shows all scores with my official transcript. Will this create any kind of problems, or will admission officers be suspicious about it?
All the school requires the official score report though.

As long as the schools for which you are omitting scores allow score choice then you are fine. It they do not, then you are taking a big risk.

Well, more specifically, I mean omitting some SAT Subject Test scores and one of my AP’s. I’m not sending the SAT Reasoning, but it will still be on the transcript. However, I am still sending my ACT scores, which I have no problem sending all of.

See if your school will omit your scores from your official transcript. This is confidential information and the school has no authority to disclose it. In addition, it flies in the face of the new Score Choice policy instituted by the College Board.

When I saw that section on the common app, I decided to see if the school offered their own version of an application. We got lucky, because they did and that version didn’t ask you to list ALL the scores.

When you select schools on Collegeboard (SAT) to send scores to, it will indicate which schools allow score choice and which schools you must submit all scores. Since S only took ACT once, I don’t know if they do the same thing.

But Score Choice only applies to the SAT Reasoning Exam, not SAT Subject Tests, right? I’m not sending my SAT Reasoning score at all, just my ACT scores. What I want omitted is some of the my SAT Subject Test Scores if the school doesn’t even require them. If the school doesn’t require them, but they still show up on my transcript, I don’t want them to even consider them. I think the only way to play it safe in that aspect would be to omit them off the transcript. BUT, my school says it can’t take off a single exams from an entire sitting. It has to be, I omit the scores from all the exams I took in a single sitting, or I allow them to see them all.

Score choice applies to all SAT and SAT II’s

I have another question about omitting scores, so I thought I might just slip it in here. If my SAT scores is much different from my ACT score, I can choose to only report College Board scores, right?

Bump.
My question hasn’t been answered exactly…

Does your HS understand that with score choice the CB allows you to choose to send specific tests from a single sitting? If the college doesn’t require the SAT IIs and you just want to send in a couple of your best, your HS shouldn’t be using rules that are in conflict with CB policies. If your HS still holds to their policy, just have them take off all of the scores for any sitting you don’t want the college to see, they will get the official CB score report with the scores you want them to see anyway, so it doesn’t matter if some scores aren’t on your HS transcript.
