Loslobos the top boarding schools are pretty much the equivalent of ivies for high school. It is a big deal.

Congrats buddy.

Los, even if you do think this is insignificant, then, like I said, don't participate in the discussion if you have nothing nice to say. You're just going to dampen people's spirits and not achieve the real tangible effect that you want.

Congratulations Msu! I'm so happy for you!

MSU.
hahaha.
CONGRATS DUDEEEE
see you soon after tennis (:

lololololololol

What's your point?

The point -- in quoting you (below) and LOL'ing at your quote -- is that even as of Post #42 you haven't figured out that the two things you mention are identical, not incompatible.

You seem to suffer under the impression that, somehow, he's not actually trying to be a jackass. Yes, I'm sure it comes naturally. Some people are just gifted that way. But that doesn't mean it's not also unintentional.

I see, D'yer. :) Thanks. Did you try to PM me? I cleaned out my inbox.

Loslobos....Milton Academy=Ivy League degree.....its a fact.......what kinda classroom are you in? prob not as good as the ones milton offers...

i wish u luck at milton MSU and hopefully..if things turn out the way i want...i might be able to see you there....

I think I heard los mention he was going to BU, but I might be wrong.

i don't get it, los. you make so many other great posts, many of which are about how students should apply to certain schools that fit them, and not just the ivies for the sake of applying to ivies. Yet here somebody got into a school that is a fit for them, and you're making an a** out of yourself by being rude and not stating your points clearly.
the person is happy, they got into a great school, what do you have against that?

Is it because of prep schools in general? Just that you've had bad experiences with them, like applied but couldn't go or known somebody who went to a prep school and turned out not to be cool or something?

yeah, he's going to BU http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?p=4301242#post4301242

Yes, I'm going to BU. And?

somebody was asking which school you were going to. I shouldn't speak for them (which nearly always means i'm going to), but I think they were insinuating that you were slighted against them because you didn't go to one.

eh- i think you're against prep schools because some people view them as being instant access to the ivy league (however, i'd like to say that most people very firmly believe in NOT going to prep school because you think it'll get you into a great school, and instead that you go to BS for the BS experience).

Oh, I thought someone asked. Sorry.

I've stated before, I didnt apply, I didnt get rejected and I would never go to an Ivy league school (except for MAYBE Penn).

did anybody here say you did? if anything, I said quite the opposite (in that i said you practically dispised the ivy league because many people make it out to be the only place worth seeking an education).

Obviously untrue.

Implies that going to an Ivy league school is the most desirable choice.

Yes, it's complete. This thread is now about loslobos71 and what he didn't do, what didn't happen to him because he didn't do it and what he would never do if handed the opportunity.

Because, God forbid, a 14-15 year old kid should feel happy for what she tried to do and actually achieved against considerable odds...without turning the attention on our pride for not trying -- or even wanting to do -- what she has accomplished.

I'm happy for Msu because she's happy for what she's done and the opportunities and possibilities that lie ahead. I'm also happy for loslobos71 for remaining steadfast and true to his position that he is superior to people who succeed at things he wouldn't dare to attempt. I just don't like it when someone else finds their "happy place" by actively working to take someone else out of theirs.
