Fair enough, Loophole. Still, I was bored, and had little else to do. :)

Kitty, I understand. I grew up in Scottsdale and know how dang hot it gets in Arizona. Sometimes the boredom is overwhelming.

J, I COMPLETELY sympathize with you. On the weather channel it said it was 111 degrees in Phoenix. Now I understand. :)

jnpn Ah experience.........ain't that the truth and what an experience. Good Luck to all and make sure to savor the experience.

OMG!!!!!! conrats!!!!! i'm soroorow;erfoiqewhlsrdfj so happy for you!!!!!!

milton is such a great school.. i'm so excited for you. make sure you try out sailing while you're there! wow, living right outside of boston.. you are going to have damn blast! (while i'm hibernating in exeter)

Blair, what's the town around Exeter like?

Wallingford (around Choate) is very quiet and reminds me of the place where my grandparents live. There are a few restaurants and hang out places, but no movie theater. I don't think there are many shops, but I hear there are some great take-out places. :) And I can always take a train to NYC or Boston. They have day trips there twice a term, I think.

exeter is a really historically significant town (politically).. it's really quaint. small shops, etc.. not too exciting (none of these towns are). theres a farmers market and a few restaurants, etc. it's cute.. i heard (i forget where, on a site or something) that it is considered one of the best town to walk around in ... lol.... so i guess there are a lot of trails, etc. it seems like a classic new england town.. plus, it's 10 mi. from the ocean!!!

exeter also has a train station right in town (not too far from the school) but exeter is much farther from nyc than choate.. it's not too far from boston, but not as close at andover or milton

Maybe by walking around they don't mean trails; they could mean shops or just that it has a nice atmosphere to be in. They might not mean like hiking-walking.

But that's cool. Choate's equidistant to NYC and Boston so I guess I have the best of both worlds. I think I also read on their web that they sponsor trips to Newport, which I love, but then I asked a current student, who will be a soph., and he said he's never gone there. So I don't know. I think they offer two day trips to both NYC and Boston a term. I'd be excited to explore Boston. Never been.

Ever sense I saw you waiting to interview with Treda Collier at EA I was hoping you would get in. Go.

that's cool. i stay in newport in the summer, but i would love to visit in the fall or something. i've never been there for any other season than summer. nonetheless, boston and nyc sound more tempting.. but it's cool that those aren't the only options. i'm not sure if exeter even has trips to nyc.. i bet manchester and boston and the beach are the only main trips.

Unless they've scheduled trips to the airport there, I can't see any trips to Manchester taking place. :)

well, we'll see i guess. wow, i haven't thought about school in a while. i'm soooo pumped again. i want my roommate to be from kenya or something. or maybe yemen. when do we get those things anyway...?

Same, I've never been to NP any other season. I'm going to PM you.

I am soo excited to be going to Choate. I know I'll get a roommate because I specifically requested one when they asked me to, and I know they only have about 1 single for the whole freshmen class, or maybe two. Or something. I hope I have an interesting roommate; I don't care where she's from, but the main qualities I'm hoping for are un-sarcastic (like, she can be sarcastic but not in a mean way) and she'll be able to understand me and not judge me, etc.

I'm not sure if we find out until we arrive!

At Choate we don't find out our roomies till we arrive, when we get ANOTHER reg. packet to see our housing assignment.

Blair, I got my packets 3 days after I got in (May 5th, I got them) but that was the same time or even before some students did. Like Helen got hers a little after me because the mail system was different in China.

thankssss blair. I'm so excited for next yearrrrrr... particularly for the new friends part. :)
dont worry guys.. los didnt make me unhappy or anything. He can think what he wants.
francis, it still kinda creeps me out how you remember who i am and who interviewed me, but thanks, and I will go. ;]

I will admit my trick that you are free to use in the future. Treda is head of Diversity admissions, you're Asian. I took a guess. I never saw you. By the way she is one of the worst interviewers I encountered. That is not a fabrication, she needs to go to a seminar or two.

i'm so so so happy for you.. wow. i'm just so happy for you! to get in as an 11th grader is REALLY tough.. and you got in off the waitlist! that's amazing.
