On a good path?

As the year winds down, I feel as though I have to really kick it into high gear next year. I know I may be too young to get a good feel for where I'm going, but I'm very close to junior year, and I figure it's almost as close. Also, I've recently gotten the feeling that the schools that I would be my dreams (MIT, Cornell), are slowly slipping away. So, any advice, suggestions, or comments?

Summer Programs:
MIT: HSSP

Research: I'm also looking to do research over this summer on carbon nanotubes and either how they could be used to filter out chemical pollutants to save coral reefs, or how they can be used to increase the efficiency of solar panels. Not sure where though, still searching.

Potential Hooks: First generation college student, low-income (though in this economy, I have a feeling it will go against me)

Colleges I am aiming for:
MIT
Cornell
Lehigh
Carnegie Mellon
UC Berkeley
RPI
BU
Northeastern

meh 10char

oh go eat a dick
I think you’re just trying to boost your ego
well I won’t let you
how does that make you feel

^ Uh…actually, no. I wasn’t trying to boost my ego in any fashion. On these boards, I have definitely seen better than what I have done. I see no reason why I can’t simply ask for a good honest opinion. I want to improve on my weak areas and see where I can do better, is that too much to ask for?

Umm, you look fine. Good enough for every college on your list.

If you’re very interested in carbon nanotubes you should consider Rice.

Really? Are they a good place to study those? Hmm, thanks. I’ll look into them. And thanks for the feedback :)

Good enough. No.

~5-8% chance? Yes.

Ok. So, the normal chance for every student? Eh, that’s fine for me. I’m obviously going to work harder, but knowing I’m not screwed over makes me feel better. Also, Position69, you have pride for our robotics team (Team HYPER 69), so you must be right, haha

Yes, it’s where they were discovered.

i’m with crysomemore…u are an overachieving son of a b****…have fun at cornell, studying 24/7 w/ the rest of the nerds…
