On a scale of 1-10, how diverse is your high school?

my school is mostly black

9.5

About 45% caucasian 30% asian 20% indian 5% other
Pretty diverse socioeconomically, in terms of religion, and political views.

9.5

10 char

8

60% black
38% white
1% Asian
1% Hispanic

9

Ethnically, roughly 35% White/Middle-Eastern and 35% Hispanic/Latino, 15% Asian, 10% Black, and 5% mixed/other (samoans and maori and navajo and afro-portuguese and an irish-japanese chick, soo many mixes...). The higher level classes tend to be only mixed with Whites and Hispanics. The exception is a girl who is Black that is in the AP/Honors classes, who is tied for #1 with a girl of mixed white/hispanic ancestry. A good portion of my classes Asian kids are extremely bright and score very highly in standardized testing, however, they tend to be very lazy and thus do not take higher-level courses and get Bs in the regular track classes because they don't do any homework.

Economically, very diverse. Even for a private catholic school, we have kids living in Beverly Hills and kids living in South Central.

Politically, we're about a 70/30. Our teachers are probably 99.99999% Democrat, but the school pastor donated tons of money to Schwarzeneggers campaign since he was an active church-goer there. Student-body wise, a lot people are apathetic. The most politically active and outspoken tend to be the Republicans, but we're all pretty liberal when it comes down to it.

Religiously, most are culturally Catholic or of a Christian denomination. A good portion are culturally Muslim and Jewish, and there is a kid who is devoutly Sikh. I would say under 50% of those who claim a religion practice their faith outside of the religion classrooms.

Sexually, a lot of us are closeted. However, there is an abundance of girls who say they are bisexual. That number has probably expanded exponentially with the recent popularity of Katy Perry.

In the middle of OC, but somehow gets many different political views. There aren't really cliques. Different races. Different personalities. Different religions. Lots of gay guys hanging with their posses. Not sure about the sexuality of girls. However, economic situations tend to be less diverse. Roughly 30% of the students come from millionaire families, but around 10% are welfare families, so I guess there's some diversity there.

Mostly Latinos. Some Whites. Few Blacks and Asians.

-7-
82.6% White, 9.2% Black, 4.6% Asian (incl. South Asian), 1.8% Hispanic, 1.8% Mixed/Other. We have a healthy mix of Christianity, Judaism, and Atheism/Agnosticism, with the occasional minority religion thrown in (Islam, Hindu (myself being one), etc.). Located north of Philadelphia, PA

^Wow. With those ethnicities, your school sounds like a 4.

9.5

1

About 95% of the student population is white, equal amount of girls and boys, mostly middle class, and a fair amount are Christian, though not necessarily devout. I'd say like 90%, but that's a guess based on my interactions. It's a pretty wonderbread school.

2
Predominantly White with a few Black/Asian/Hispanic here and there.

My school is located in a wealthy suburb, not much diversity there. A lot of the teachers are conservative, especially the principal...some of them actually do their best to suppress individualism and diversity of any kind.

Split about three ways black, Latino, white though most of the whites are recent immigrants, plus a few Asians. Very urban, lol. We have many different political views, some gays, a few different religions. But it's skewed the other way, not many straight up American whites and I probably very few with an income over 100k. And a little cliquey.

hmm maybe 4...
60 % hispanic
30% white
8% black
2% everything else

just estimates

Uh i would say around a 4. We have usually 3 big "sectors" of races- Caucasians, African-Americans, and Hispanics. I'm Asian and I'm a minority here...

OMG a 2, I go to a school with 90% Hispanics, and 6%white, 3% Black,1%other I fit in between half-white half-asian, haha theres a couple other asians but the closest we have to a group of asians are those wannabe Asians like the anime-freaks. Haha don't get me wrong I'm not racist, all my friends are Hispanic

~~~~~~~~
5? 6? out of 300 kids 50% white, 25% black, 20% hispanic and rising, 5% asian. tons of different religions, but the majority are jewish. we also have this thing where we try to have ~10 international students a year for an exchange program or something... a fairly large GLBT population. i like it.
and huge socioeconomic diversity. ranging from like negative 0 income to seven figure incomes. that i really like.
Probably about a 4.
About 70% white, 25% Asian/Indian, 5% Other.
HOWEVER, our African-American and Middle Eastern populations are surging with the closing of Detroit schools are the boom in Middle Eastern people moving from Dearborn (which has the largest Muslim population outside of the Middle East) to our city and the white population is on a downward turn because whites around here tend to work at the blue collar level of the auto companies, etc which are going under.
hmmmm probably a 2.
the town i live in is 96% white, 2% Asian, and 2% other. Out of 250 people in my grade, there are 6 other Asians, and 3 black people. And pretty much everyone is affluent. And a liberal, which puts me in the minority.
