What about 1 weak SAT score and everything else (including ACT) is fine?
=P

I see. But doesn't it also depend on which school you're from? In hardcore schools like Exeter, its reasonable to get a B as opposed to getting a B in America's caboose schools.

8
ten char

more specifically... 10 IV, 8 Why Stanford, 7 Roommate

12 12 12... essays, recs, and accomplishments are the most important deciding factors, grades and SATs are exclusive factors meaning if they aren't there, you won't be there.

10 (10 char.)

From my experiences with both CC essay-writers and my personal friends, here's an observation I've made:

Many, many, many people are far, far, far worse essay-writers than they think they are. Often people will claim that their essays are "gold" or "perfect," just because mommy, daddy, and their teachers liked them.

Do not let this be you.

Thanks hookem. I asked my teachers to be honest and frank about their criticisms towards my essays. I specifically asked them to judge them on uniqueness.

But, does anyone have any comments on me not including my SAT I score on the common app?

Wait, sorry, why are you not including your SAT I score on the commonapp? If you just don't want to because it's "low", I would not say this is a good reason because your schools will see it anyway when they get the official score report.
But please give me more info and I'll answer more thoroughly.

My only reason is because its low =(, however my ACT is Stanford standards, so is my GPA, rank, etc.

Someone on these boards said "subconsciously" they'll see it negatively but....opinions?

So should I put it?

I'd put it just so it doesn't look like you're trying to hide something

mmk. Thanks

Is there a guide on the terms?.... Like what exactly are "hooks" and the qualifications for "URM."

I don't like how short they are. 1800 characters is only about 400 words, and it's hard enough to get topics like these into 500 words, let alone 400. With more space, we'd be able to show our true selves with more clarity, which would help them decide on admissions.

If you can write better essays than everyone else in 800 words..surely you can in 400 words...

That's not the point. If they want to really know who we are, they'd allow more space for us to show who we are.

shoot, i thought it was 1800 words. i'm gonna have trouble cutting down.

^OH DANG that sucks.
