on application what was the point of putting two majors?

on the application what was the point of putting two majors? Is it so if you dont get into one school you have the chance of getting into the other?

i think if you qualify for your second choice major but not your first choice they will admit you for your 2nd choice

My S was admitted to his second choice major, same school : CNS. He was not admitted to his first choice major.

can you be accepted into your second choice school?

yes! It happens all of the time…although, depending on the school, it is fairly easy to trasfer majors once you get in.

so i just realized i got accepted and into my second choice, the school of undergraduate studies. But Im not exactly sure what that school is. Can anyone tell me? and will i get an official letter in the mail?

wait they released your decision today? are you Out of state?

Undergraduate Studies is sort of like undeclared…you really aren’t declaring a major yet…

yeah im from california. they have not sent a letter out. okay thanks swtcat. so what would i exactly do or am i just doing core classes?

oh wow i thought they weren’t releasing out of state decisions until february? congrats!

thanks! yeah i was thinking feb too

What was your first choice major?

explode…yes, you wil be taking core classes the first two years anyway…just like everyone eles…unless you are transferring in a bunch of AP’s. My D was an Undergraduate Studies major and applied into the Comm school back in October…she found out a couple of weeks ago that she got in  She is a freshman.
By the Way…congrats on the OOS acceptance! D is in state but not top 10%…she didn’t find out until late Febraury…

I think we are at the point when not hearing is a good thing - it means you are still being considered for your first choice. I’m not hearing of any acceptances from McCombs, in particular, except possibly top 1-2%, and very few of those. Does this make sense? Seems they need to look at everyone before making decisions.

Do you know if anyone has gotten liberal arts acceptances yet?

okay thank you everyone. i didnt get into my first choice which was engineering.
