I'll be a junior next year, and I was considering being in an apartment by myself in odum or ram village. looking at next year's rates, if i had an apartment to myself, it would cost about 2000 more than sharing a room in a residence hall and about 1000 more if i had a single room in a residence hall. I really want to have somewhere to myself and i don't have a car so it seems nice that i can be in an apartment and stay on campus (i feel that staying on campus is convenient anyway, and it makes me more likely to go to class). but somehow the oncampus apartments feel more expensive than if i were to get something off campus (is that just the premium of being on campus?)

and im not sure i really need a living room (although it would be very nice to have one to myself), since i dont really have anything to fill that space (buying stuff to fill it would just add more cost). i was also thinking about getting a single room in granville which is close enough. would that be a better choice than an apartment? i've been in a single room in granville, which isn't that big, but i have a room and bathroom to myself, which is nice i guess. I havent been inside any of the apartments....any suggestions from people with more experience?
