On Campus Audition

Hi,

I’m auditioning on campus at Penn State for the BFA MT program soon and was wondering if anyone could tell me their experience of auditioning at Penn State, how the day was run, if they visited the day before, etc… Thanks so much!

First dance while parents have info session, then songs and monologues. You sit with pianist while person in front of you sings and then while they are doing monologue you show your music cuts to pianist. After you do your monologue and sing you are taken to another room and then told whether you will be staying for an interview or not. If you aren’t asked to stay for an interview it’s the end of the road. We did not visit the day before.

Thank you @raam1012!

While you don’t know if you are in that day - you certainly know if you are out. Not a bad thing.

@attheballet‌ Just curious, how long did it take you to receive a pre-screen decision after sending it? I’ve been waiting for over a week now, and I still haven’t heard. Thanks!!

@mtsc13 It took exactly a week for them to get back to me. I’m sure you’ll hear soon!
