So, if you think there will be room in your dorm room to bring a TV and you really want a TV, on-campus cable TV is free? You just need to bring the TV and the cable and find a spot to put the TV?

Is the cable tv situation the same during the summer sessions and during the school year? My daughter is living on campus (in Kinsolving, which is co-ed during the summer) during second summer session July 14 to August 15. She is not sure yet if she will be wanting a TV in her room.

Yes, housing includes basic cable. I would assume this is included in the summer as well. A TV isn’t really TOO necessary at college, especially since there’s not much to watch in the summer. In the fall and spring though, most likely, your daughter will end up having schedule conflicts with programs and whatnot and end up watching whatever shows she likes online. Also, it COULD get complicated with her roommate due to distraction.

I honestly don’t know how anyone could live without a TV. Even though you may be busy a lot, there is always time for Scrubs re-runs at awkward times in the day.

Between watching shows online and watching DVD’s on the computer and watching tv in a lounge that has wireless internet so you can watch re-runs sitting on a couch surfing the web might be okay… I think she going to give it a try. The rooms are so small that you don’t have room for a big TV and even a small TV takes up valuable surface area.

Thanks for the information.
