for the housing app you have to order the halls in which you prefer them. let me know if you think i should change the order up at all. keep in mind i'm not a huge partier, but a very social person...

1) Anacapa
2) Santa Cruz
3) Santa Rosa/San Nicolas (can't decide)
4) Santa Rosa/San Nicolas
5) San Miguel
6) Manzanita
7) FT (only because of the distance...)

Megadeth - students go ALL the time. :) The ride isn't that bad, it seems pretty short especially when you go with friends.

UCSB2010 - The list looks pretty good to me. If you really strictly want to stay away from parties, I would put Manzanita up higher. It tends to be quieter since mostly 2nd - 3rd years stay there with the exception of I believe 1-2 houses reserved for freshmen. However, there are exceptions of it getting pretty crazy at times.

Francisco Torres is really nice in my opinion, with a pool, volleyball courts, dining commons, and its own fitness center! The only bad thing is that its not right on campus like the other freshman residence halls, so it wouldnt be as easy to get to class and back from FT. If anyone needs descriptions of the halls and pictures just go to UCSB's website and click on housing, but it really would be better if you could see each hall for yourself.

wait, is FT NICER than san nicolas?? and is it REALLY that much of a "party residence"? i am sooooo confused! anacapa, santa rosa and santa cruz seemed really, really boring, but unfortunately i was unable to visit FT. i want somehwere social, that parties on the weekends, but isnt crazy. what would you suggest??

SantaBarbie, I am not sure if you consider San Nicolas "nicer" than FT, I think its all up to what you personally think about the halls. My friend who lives in FT says that they are known as the "rowdy" residence hall and that yes there are a lot of drunk people running down the halls and whatnot sometimes, but I dont think thats only FT, I think all of the other halls would probably have some of that lol. I hear FT is really social and a good place to make friends since it houses 1/3 of the freshman so everyone gets to know one another in a way, but its up to you and if you want to take the 10 min bike ride to campus and back to your hall lol since FT isnt right smack on campus like all of the other ones.
