I may have a chance to go to LA next month and am wondering if I should set up an on campus interview instead of requesting an off campus interview. Anyone know if there is more of an admissions benefit to on campus interviews at USC?

I thought I read something about that awhile back but can't find it now.
Thanks

My son was accepted to USC and did not interview. Last year, interviews were optional. If you think there is something about yourself that will help your admissions by interviewing, then by all means go ahead and arrange an interview. Personally, if I wanted to interview and had the opportunity to do it at USC, I would arrange the interview at USC to find out more if the school/program you want is right for you. Meeting USC staff and seeing the school in person will tell you a lot if you think the school is the right fit.

Before I comment, I must first point out that I am only speaking from my experience with graduate school admissions and not undergraduate admissions. Anyway, if you are a borderline admit I would consider interviewing to be more beneficial than not unless you are really iffy on your interviewing skills. Not only does it show your interest in the school, it also helps the admission staff put a face to the numbers.

I did an out of state interview and it worked out fine and it was easier than trying to get out to LA for some 20 minute interview. But if you have the opportunity to do it might as well, although in state or out it will be the same
