On-campus interview Vs. Off-campus Alumni interview

Hello! I wanted to make this thread to ask whether or not you all believe one or the other is better. I understand that they are both interviews, but I wanted to know whether or not one is maybe more comprehensive than the other.

Disclaimer: I’m a current student who never interviewed. That being said, most on-campus interviews are conducted by fourth years in the college, whereas off-campus interviews will most likely be with alumni could be either recent graduates or professionals already established in their fields. I wouldn’t expect the interview to differ much between sites. If, however, you have a personal preference for doing the interview at a certain site then by all means go with your gut and pursue that.

My DS went for an on-campus interview last fall. We were told it would be with a 4th-year, but after the interview was over, we were told she worked in admissions (she looked very young). I think this was a good thing–he got in EA.

I don’t go to school here, so awkward, but my alumni interview was with a late 20s hipster in a cafe in Brooklyn that played music very loud so I could barely hear him talk. He also pressed me unusually so about my responses to his questions, which I thought was weird. It was less of a chat or interview so much as a test.

bold: Haha!
