I have a quick interview question (perhaps Northstarmom or Hanna could help me out... :)) I recently received an email from the track coach saying that he has scheduled an on-campus interview for me next week during my official visit. I googled the interviewer's name and found that she actually works in the admissions office. Am I correct in assuming that I won't need to do a second interview once I send in my app? This is the official interview, right? (even if it weren't, I would treat it as one anyway...) Thanks for the help! :)

It's no big deal--You're going to have an interview with Sarah Beasley, the track liaison. She's pretty much the nicest person you'll ever meet, so you should be fine. This is not the official interview, however--you'll have a regular alumni interview just like everyone else sometime this winter. But she's great, so you're good to go, I am sure.

hmmm... actually, he said her name was Rotner... but still, that's good to know. If i bomb this one, i still have another chance :D

Sunglasses - i'll be there on monday and tuesday! i can't wait!

Koala-It's rough that you don't get a weekend night here... i thought the entire purpose of official visits was to get the recruits trashed (maybe that's just football). You'll just see us studying... which is important, I guess, but definitely not all we do. Is my pal "sunglasses" your host?

Yeah, i was really hoping for a weekend, but my soccer coach was being really anal about me not missing county games, which are on Sundays... so then i tried for a Sunday/Monday, but you guys don't have class tomorrow and i want to sit in on a class, so we finally settled on Monday/Tuesday :). No, sunglasses is not hosting me :(

Adcoms prefer that candidates get an alumni interview, too. At least, that's what an H adcom told me last week. Harvard is a rare college that actually does pay attention to interviews, including alumni interviews. While they're not the most important part of the application, they still are something that adcoms pay attention to.

Best of luck to you with your on-campus interview!

Thanks so much, Northstarmom! :)
