Just wondering, what are the on campus interviews like for those who had them? Casual? Somewhat more formal? Unnerving? Lol.

I scheduled for one in August and it's my first interview so blahhh I hope I don't screw it up.

I thought Yale doesn't offer on campus interviews.

They do, but only to rising seniors from July-November.

So we can go for our interviews over the summer? Thats pretty cool.

In general the interview shouldn't be too unnerving. It's not a stressor -- to see how you'll perform under pressure (What's pi to the fourth digit? NOW!)

They want to see why you tick and answer any questions you may have. They'll ask you Qs about your interests and perhaps your background. Good luck to you.

My D's interview was with a student interviewer, and she really enjoyed it. It was low key, but not without thought-provoking questions.

All on-campus interviews at Yale are with student interviewers, FYI.

The interviews are low stress, and are more like conversations than anything else. You talk a little bit about your life, ask any questions you have about yale, and they tell you a little about their life. Not a big deal. Dress up a little bit... it's not a tuxedo or cocktail dress occasion but a nice dress for a girl or a collared shirt, sweater and khakis for a boy would be appropriate.
