On campus living honors sophomore

Daughter is a freshman in the honors college, will have enough credits to qualify as junior fall 2014. Wants to live on or near campus preferably in an apartment. Has no car. Any ideas?

Here are some of the student apts with transportation to campus…

Properties with shuttle service to campus:

The Woodlands
The Retreat at Lake Tamaha
University Village
Boardwalk at Brittain Landing
Crimson Student Living
Campus Way
The Links
The Greens
East Edge Apartments
The Avenue at Tuscaloosa
The Lofts at City Center

the Bluffs isn’t listed, but it used to have transportation. Don’t know if it still does.

Any info on Bryce Lawn or The Highlands? Daughter wants to be able to walk to her classes. Do many sophomore honors students stay in residence halls?

^^^

Not in the recent years because there’s been a housing shortage. Some have, but many haven’t been able to get on-campus housing after frosh year.

The NMF students often stay on campus because of their scholarships, but next year’s sophomore NMF’s won’t have that scholarship.

However, maybe with the opening of the second phase of Presidential next fall it may be easier?

I think there are some newer student apts within walking distance that are south of the school.

Son’s friends live at Crimson Student Living and did not buy a parking pass. They take the shuttle to and from campus.
