On Campus Transportation Question

My dd just finished her schedule. She has a class in RICH (engineering?) building then one at the tennis complex 20 minutes later. It looked like a bus route would run that direction
( purple).

Is 20 minutes enough time? She will have a parking permit, so she could drive. But it will be a south side permit.

She doesn't own a bike, so that is not an option.

Any opinions would be appreciated.

a bike is a really good option to have at A&M. I would look into getting a bike.
It could take longer to drive to the other side of campus and find a spot to park.
The bus could be a good option, but she can walk it in that amount of time.

She had a bad bike accident as a child, so the bike option is out. :frowning:

However, I am glad to hear she can walk across campus and make it in 20 minutes. She doesn’t mind jogging, I just wasn’t sure if that was enough time to get across campus.

Thanks so much for the advice!

my daugther was begging me for a moped! She said you can park them anywhere and they are the perfect transportation.
She now stays in the Langford Architecture buildings 100% of the time… Her goal this year is to get a lot 50 parking permit

My daughter has a bike. She rode it the first couple of weeks but then realized campus gets very crowded in between classes. She now walks and has actually said she prefers it because she can socialize along the way. On Tuesday and Thursday she had 20 minutes to go from one side of campus to the other and she said she could easily make it walking. There is no need to drive because your parking permit is usually for a specific lot on campus. Plus, even if you could drive it would take you longer to drive from one side of campus to the other. There is no road that allows you just to drive right down the middle of campus. You have to go around the perimeter which is filled with lots of traffic and lights. She will be just fine walking.

S2 said walking is the best, as you can cut in and out of buildings, up and down stairs, fence off small walk way, rope off area etc. 20 min is plenty per his experiance.

Thank you all so much! She was quite happy to hear she can make it because the tennis teacher apparently counts you absent if you are late. We will leave her schedule as is.
