On line Theory Test

I was wondering if any of you know about the online Music Conservatory Theory Test. All I know is that it is an hour long and on line and after one hour it logs you out and ends the test. Do you know what is on it or how advanced the theory is on the test. Has anyone expericenced this test or known anyone who survived it? What can you tell me to help me prepare or relax about it?

I can’t tell you the details of the test, but I can tell you that my son took it during his audition cycle two years ago. He had no music theory background with his instrument and found the test to be very hard. He probably failed it because, when he was admitted to Oberlin, he was put in the accelerated beginners theory class, in which he got an A. I believe Oberlin uses the test as a means of assessment, as information for an applicant, but obviously not as the barometer by which one’s musicianship is measured. If you have had some theory training, I would say to brush up on what you’ve been taught, and try to do your best, but your audition, application and musical resume are definitely the most important aspects of your application. Relax.
