I assume it's on everyone's portal, but what does it mean?

If there is actually something listed under that tab, it means you have things that still need to be sent. If there is nothing there, then you are fine and don’t worry about it.

i dont understand why i would have outstanding materials. apparently they are missing my secondary school report, and its been that way since like november. I applied through questbridge, and they said they automatically reconsider questbridge finalists who ranked penn but werent accepted in december. is it even worth calling now?

Hey there sinceredesichick, I had the same problem. Penn said they don’t have my Secondary School Report, so I rang them up, and they said that Secondary School Reports aren’t a requirement for admission consideration, so if I really wanted to, I could send it to them again, but otherwise told me not to worry about it. I got my Counselor to email it to them again, but even after that, it still says Outstanding Secondary School Report. So dont worry about!

“Outstanding Application Materials” means that your application materials very well written and composed; in short, you have a great chance to be admitted if your application materials are outstanding! Good job! ;-)

^^lmao…

i dont even know if this guy’s serious or just jk…

victorkangnz, really? because on mine it says i’m missing my “counselor recommendation” but i’m pretty sure there is no link on the common app that says counselor recommendation…so i have no clue what they are talking about. and i never got an email about it.

but i did get an email about missing my application fee, i missed the email in my inbox and didn’t realize it until a few days ago. is it too late now to send it?

Hey angelfish,
Er…missing counselor recommendation? So Penn didn’t contact you about missing materials? Because whenever I log on, it says to refrain from contacting Penn admissions about missing documents because the office will contact you if they need anything. I guess you definitely need to pay the application fee! Hmm…not sure. You were able to send your Common App prior to paying your application fee?

My son’s page showed missing counselor recommendations after sending it twice and with no email from the school indicating it was missing. Although the site essentially said “don’t call us we’ll call you,” we emailed admissions two weeks ago asking if the recommendation was missing. Admissions emailed back the next day saying that it just had located the recommendation. This concerned us because the inference was that the application was incomplete and the school had not emailed my son to so indicate. To be sure, we asked the school guidance counselor to call and make sure there was no prejudice to the allegedly missing items.

the portal says im missing teacher recommendations, which i know FOR CERTAIN were sent in. when i called awhile ago they said that they would contact me if something was missing, so im assuming they have them.

yeah i had a fee waiver so all i had to do was check the box and mail the form…which i definitely did. i guess i’m going to fax it again to them first thing monday morning, and then call the school about the recommendation. thanks for the help!

oh ok i see, its cool to see it wasn’t needed. i think the same thing is on my mid year report so at least they have that.

yeah i figured the same thing, that they would contact me if they were actually missing something, so i didnt want to be bothersome and call. thanks !
