Hey guys.. found this board and maybe I can get some thoughts and info about housing at the UofO.

I'm an international student and I'll do an exchange year 2011/2012 at the UofO.
Now that I've received the admission letters I was wondering if I should apply for ON-campus housing or try to find an appartment off campus with some other (international) guys.

What do you think? Do you know if most of the international students live on or off campus?
Is it true that there are mainly freshmen at the dorms and everybody else is living off campus?

I'll be 23 by september - and have applied for the graduate program... so maybe that sould be considered too

thx in advance...! would be very helpful to get some thoughts on this...

It’s true that mostly freshmen live on campus. You might be happier living off campus. There is rental housing all around the university, but you might want to have something arranged well before you arrive. The off campus housing, especially the more affordable housing, does tend to fill up quickly.

I’m going in as a transfer student and I’ve chosen to live off campus. Stadium Park Apartments are beautiful and my first choice, however Duck Village looks nice too. I think most freshmen live in the dorms, but UO probably has some sort of international dorm section or something. Where are you from? You could call and see if they have something like that or if there are any other students from the same place in your program.

im living off campus! courtside apartments

Here is information on the UO’s International House residence hall.
