On or Off-campus??

I am doing a year of "study abroad" at Penn State from Australia and I was wondering whether I should be living on or off-campus. I have heard that not many people stay on campus after their first or second years and I will be in my third (Junior) year! Is on campus living mainly a freshman thing? And if so how do I go about finding off campus housing?

Well If you are going to be off campus you should look into housing ASAP. Craigslist is a good spot to look for sublets and housing for the fall/spring. If you have a car (or dont mind riding the bus) you could also look into The Pointe or Nittany Crossing (a lot of ppl who transfer from a branch campus end up staying there.) There are a lot of apts out on vairo blvd / North Atherton (where Nittany Crossing and The Pointe are). Living on campus is going to be heavily freshman and sophomores, but it won’t be terrible if it’s your first time on campus anyway. Are you sure you can get housing on-campus at this point?

I am not coming until second semester because that’s the start of the school year over here. I assume that will cause problems too, but I am kind of taking it as it comes, thanks for your help, if you have any other advice feel free to post more :)
