On sending SAT scores to colleges. Should I "rush ship"? help please

Hello,
I am applying to a few colleges and their test scores deadline is January 1. I know I am kind of late but I really didn't know that it takes 1-2 weeks for the previous SAT scores to get to colleges and just a few days for the December SAT scores to be sent. I thought as long as I am sending my scores IN December with my December SAT scores it would be okay. But it seems like I should "rush ship" my scores because today is Dec.23. I sent emails to the admissions offices of those schools but all of them replied with an email saying that it is a holiday and my mail will be replied in 2014. .... what should I do? it would be extremely hard for me to find that additional 20$s on each school. And the delivery method is by mail. if anyone ever experienced anything similar, help me please!! I am really worried

1) check to see if the colleges accept the January testing date. If so, then you know for sure, they accept test scores beyond the jan 1 deadline

2) For most schools, RUSH sending isn’t needed. What happens is they print out your results and mail them. Normally, they just process scores and submit a regular data dump – an instantaneous download by the colleges. Some colleges specifically tell students NOT to rush send the scores as it’s a waste of money.

3) the Jan 1 deadline is for your part of the application. Many other documents will trickle in that are out of your control – and the colleges are fine with it. If anything is missing, say, by the end of Feb, they will contact you for it – remember: they WANT to admit you.

Thank you T26E4!
no they don’t accept January testing dates. But you are probably right. Thank you for answering. So I’ll just choose the regular shipping.

BTW it’s not 20$ extra for each college. U get rush report for all colleges(if u send them together) by paying 20$. I know cause I sent rush report to Ohio, but I sent Purdue, TAMU and Georgia Tech at the same time, so I got rush report for all. So, I would advice u to go for the rush report if u don’t want to take any chances.

Oh. I didn’t know that. thank you. I certainly don’t want to take chances so maybe if it’s 20$ for all colleges, I should maybe rush report.
