School starts at around 7:55, but all the really active clubs have meetings starting at 7:15, and usually I'm up by 6:40 to get ready for school. I go to bed around Midnight-1 AM so Im guessing 5.5-6.5 hours of sleep a night, not that bad right?

I think it's funny how the article is all like: "WE MUST PUSH FOR A CHANGE! We must MAKE the children sleep more!" whereas on the other hand teachers bombard us with homework and we have all of this EC stuff to keep up with for college.
IMO shifting the time frame of school forward a few hours wouldn't really change anything--actually I think it'd make things worse for me because of how much later the ECs will be or how the ECs will be moved to the early morning. Either way, I won't get 9-10 hrs of sleep due to the piles of hw.

I would LOVE to get 10 hours of sleep...i milk my sleeping time for all that its worth I wake up press snooze, take a shower, then go back to sleep until its time to go to school lol

im starting my junior year, and im quite dissapointed at all the hype i got. my brother, a very intelligent student (half scholarship to USC), complained that he would get 10 hours of sleep during the week his junior year. also, i heard from many many people the rigor of AP classes and junior year, however, i havent exactly noticed what they are talking about.

i am now at my junior year with all the same classes my brother took: AP English, AP Calc, AP History, Bio Honors, Spanish Honors, and Architectural Design. on an average night, i get about 6-7, but its not becuase im studying.

school starts at 7 30, so im up around 7 n make it to school. with sports and etc, its safe to say i dont get home until 5 30 every day. then i hang out with my friends, screw off, play video games, watch tv, take a shower, eat some snacks, etc until 7- 7 30. at this time i sit down to do my work, where i am distracted by the computer, aim, television, and cell fone for hours. even with all this, i still get in bed by about 11 o clock each night.

if i were to rid myself of all these distractions, im positive i would be in bed by 9-10 o clock every night, meaning 9-10 hours of sleep.

My school starts at 7:30 and gets out at 2:38. I usually go to bed around 11 and wake up at 6, so thats 7 hours. (sometimes less, sometimes more). and i'm one of those people that need my sleep, i think the problem for me is i have too many EC's so i dont get home until after 9 some nights. Today i got home at 7 after theatre.
