On the bubble, I think

Well today my counselor called me after school and to my shock turns out that Yale called her to ask more questions about me. For what? I dont know, but hopefully it will be proven to be a good sign.

Did you lie on your application? You better hope you didn't exaggerate or anything, because sometimes they call to verify things that seem unordinary.

I agree with chicagoboy12, the admissions people often check information that they believe may be exaggerated. Hopefully you haven't lied and your info will check out with the counselor

Nah, I didnt lie. She told me that they were asking questions pertaining about me as a person and things of that sort.

Did your essay seem cocky? Be honest!

lol. Serious, my essay had nothing to do with my community. What would you describe as cocky?

"I believe that it is my superior learning capacity, aptly demonstrated through my SAT Reasoning Test results, that makes me the type of student your fine institution should strive to recruit."

Something in that vein.

Yeah, no where near that especially since my SATs are not that high.

Jmarin - I think that is very good news. Especially since your counselor told you about it. If the conversation had been in some way negative on the part of the counselor he or she wouldn't have told you they called. We'll be watching to see the outcome. :)

Yes my brother's counsellor ( who is my counsellor as well this year) was contacted last year a few days before his ED results came out and he was accepted!!! He is a year ahead of me. Sadly no calls for me yet.
So all points to a positive news for you. Good Luck!

Oh yes one thing I forgot, they were mainly asking for his projected grades for the remaining of the year. Maybe that was the intention of your call as well.

I have a feeling the call means good news, although I emphathize with you -- to celebrate or not celebrate?

My regional admissions rep was a little less mysterious. He emailed my counselor in November after he read my application and told her that he would fight tooth-and-nail to get me in. Apparently he succeeded, woohoo!

Oh ok, thanks everybody. I guess i will see in april.

Pays to be nice to your GC!

^ I know that does help.

And what's with my spellings and English in the previous posts? Really it's the flu I have, otherwise everything about me is flawless- the reason I was not accepted, too perfect, at least in round 1, by Yale!!! K. I'm loosing it now. Bye people need to sleep.
worknprogress, we all love you!!!!
