You can only choose dorms by those special houses. There's no box that lists the actual dorms, only stuff like "global policies" or whatever it is. My question is can I live in a dorm without being involved in that house? Or can I live in one dorm and participate in a house in another dorm? Haha I worded this pretty badly but I hope you understand! (I emailed GW but haven't received a reply)

they divide it in themes but is not written in stone.however it helps to dorm with people with similar interests

I was confused about the same issue. I called GW's housing number and someone walked me through it on the phone. Make certain that you get someone who is knowledgeable about the on-line housing application.

what did they say, MsBC?

Can someone quickly explain to me how the GWU campus is divided in the Washington area. From experience, I don't recall it being one campus, but two "separate" campuses, but I'm not exactly sure how they did it.

One campus is in Foggy Bottom, right by the White House.

The other campus is in Foxhall, which is a 15-minute bus ride away on a normal day. It is near Georgetown on a map, but it will actually take you longer to get to Georgetown from there than Foggy Bottom.
