On the right track?

Currently a rising junior, private all-girls college prep school in Bronx, New York. Just wondering if my scores and grades are up to par for top LAC's and possibly some others, and what I need to improve over the next year.

SATs
SAT I: Not yet taken
SAT II: Bio E 690, Math I 740, World History 690

Grades
Overall Freshman GPA: 96.6
Religion 1, 98/99
English Honors 93/95
Global Honors 91/92
Latin I 96/96
Geometry Honors (Tenth-grade course) 91/92
Bio (Tenth-Grade Course) 94/95

Overall Sophomore GPA 99.2
Religion 2, 96/96
English 2 Honors 93/93
Global Honors, 92/93
Latin II, 99/99
Alg2/Trig (11th grade course) 97/96
Chemistry Honors (11th grade course) 97/98

** My school doesn't offer AP courses until 11th grade, and then we can only choose one, AP USH. By the end of high school, I can take a maximum of 5 APs.

**ECs: I'm president/vice president in a few clubs, editor of the newspaper, officer in student council, have a 15 hr per week job at a local produce market, am in NHS, involved in service, etc. I've interned at a Congressmans office last summer and am interning at my local Senators office this year. I have received numerous awars, highest GPA in class award, etc.

---> So, how does my portfolio look so far? I'm looking at Barnard, Lehigh, Columbia (I know it's a reach for me), Brandeis, Washington and Lee, etc. Hope to study political science and eventually go into political communications. I would truly appreciate any advice, or criticism that may help me improve over the next year. Thanks!

Columbia is only a reach for you because it's a reach for everyone. Take the SAT I, do well on it, and with your grades you would probably even be accepted there. Keep up the good work.

thanks for the feedback...its nice to see that someone on CC is positive! Question--how much do SAT II scores count in relation to all of the other 'application elements'? Should I retake any of these exams, or are my current grades high enough that they won't tarnish my chances?

Thank you....

You have time to retake them, so I would retake them if you want to. If there are subjects that you enjoy more than the ones you have taken SAT IIs on, take the SAT IIs for those subjects instead. As for how much they count, I'd recommend you read this article:
