Hey, tis been a while. I am knee deep in the process of everything bs related right now. Just here to check my bases and get some knowledge before I interview. I am doing this over october 7th-10th. My dad said he might have to change Exeter tour date to thursday.

Day 1:
Fly into Boston, Drive to Exeter(friend touring me) and tour in the late afternoon
Day 2:
Kent at 8am(friend touring me) in the Morning, followed by Hotchkiss during lunch time.
Day 3:
Andover at brunch(10am)

I am driving to all of these with my dad, a tight schedule so we had to cut SPS off the list(They were also 100% BOOKED FOR THE ENTIRE WEEK)

My Questions:
- Would it be accepted if I arrived at Kent at 7:30 and had breakfast(If I am not allowed to eat I won’t) with another friend that is not touring me? Would they be offended/annoyed?

Should I ask questions during the interview of things important to me? Or should I ask during the tour?

Should I say what my school does not offer? And then bring up what that particular school offers?

As soon as the interview/tour is done… will they shoo me away? Or can I just talk with one of my friends for half an hour if they don’t have class?

I'm sure that would be fine, but definitely have your friend get his adviser's (or equivalent) permission, which will surely be granted. I'd go to breakfast without Dad; meet him at the interview.

Both. The two most important things to do in a BS interview are (1) be yourself, which includes asking questions that are important to you (not what you "think" they want to hear and answering questions candidly (2) broad smiles/sunny attitude/great handshake. Fun, conversational, interested, and interesting candidates are the ones who get remembered.

If one of your motivations for applying is that your current school does not offer the courses or characteristics that the school to which you're applying does, then let the admission's officer know. He or she will be happy that you've specifically researched their School and can point out elements that you find exciting.

I am a HUGE believer in trying to go to games or events on interview day. It's a great way to see a less varnished view of the School and has the added benefit of giving you an extra detail to include in your follow-up thank you note to the Admission's Officer.

Final homework suggestion: have your Dad or Mom play the role of an admissions officer and ask you questions like it was a real interview. This will give you the chance to help organize your thoughts and to articulate your feelings well and easily. But remember, the purpose of the practice is not to sound rehearsed or to be someone youre not, its to make it easier for you to say what its important to you, to be your best self.

I have done the interview thing with two girls from exeter and one from ehs that both said their interviews were what got them in... I am a pretty easy talker and outgoing person when it comes to talking so I think I can express what I want to express pretty easily. I'll probably practice tommorrow with somebody from each school(I know two girls from kent, 2 from exeter, 1 from hotchkiss and two girls from andover... (Wow...Why do I mainy know girls?))

Italian border if tell me when you are comming to hotchkiss we can meet up.

Totally, it will be cool to meet with anybody. I am going to have dinner at Exeter, breakfast at kent and lunch at hotchkiss so i can probably see anybody from those schools if you want to say hi!
