what exactly do people in Key Club do?

Answer: not much, some easter egg hunt and some other bloody pointless community service

Why isn't it called 'community service club'?

Kiwanis=Key Club..get it

KEY Club actually stands for Kiwanis Educates Youth. Of course, the efficiency of KEY Club depends on your local chapter, but we basically do community service in pretty much any and all areas. There are also annual RTCs, fall rallies, district conventions, and annual conventions for members, which are basically celebrations of what you've accomplished all year. KEY Club International is the largest service organization in the world, and raises millions of dollars every year and does billions of community service.

You can find out more here:

As for logisticslord's comments, you can pretty much ignore them seeing as how he has no personal experience in KEY Club. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. :] I can try to put you in touch with someone in your area.

I'm actually a senior, so it's too late for me to join key club. I was just wondering what they do, because I'm always hearing about the key club, but I had no clue what they do.

It's a very well organized and established community service organization for high schoolers. It was first begun by the Kiwanis Organization, which is basically the adult version of it. There's Builder's club for middle schoolers, KIWINs for other high schoolers, and Circle K for college students.

I wish my key club was more like yours chilaxxin.

ours is such a joke. all they care about is getting awards at conventions and they ask memmbers to pay like 15 bucks every month so they can pay to go to convention. i joined first semester of freshman year, and i quit second semester of freshman year.

now, i just try and go find comm. projects by myself and get friends to go with me.

our key club lives for the six flags trip

$15/month is absolutely insane! The total amount of money members pay in a year is $15, unless they want to go to convention, which is where they pay another $100. I'm trying to lower that cost for next year through fundraisers though.

Of course, I do have a tendency to love my KEY Club (after all, I'm president-elect lol). You can try out some websites, daiikon, like volunteermatch. They tend to have a wide variety of projects. In the small chance that you're from the Bay Area, I can put you in touch with a bunch of organizations we work with.
