<p>No. If you're applying for majors other than Engineering, I believe, there won't be admissions based on your major.</p>
<p>take a look at UCSB</a> Admissions : Selection Process and look for the word "major" in the doc (use edit-> find on firefox). This tells you when it matters.</p>
