Hi. I will be transferring to another university for Summer 09. I was recently accepted.

I am worried I may not pass some of my courses for the Spring 09 semester at the college I am currently attending.

Can the university revoke my admission? I know as a high school student they can, but I'm wondering if the same applies to transfer students!

I assume so, yeah. Better shape up.

With a week left of school, I’m doomed. :(

Yes, they can. Offer revocations are rare, but they do happen.

depends on the school

they will ask you for your final transcript to determine transfer credits…

if they see that there is a well defined decreased in performance, they may very well

if you feel the need, explain any situations in which has resulted in your poor performance

Thank you. There is nothing I can do but wait and see. I’m going to go speak to them about registering and things in about two weeks. Would it be logically for me to ask then? They most likely will not have recieved my final transcripts by then.

What’s the school? Most schools won’t for something like that unless you, like, fail all your classes. Most schools reserve the right in case they find out you’re a sociopath or something. (Which I assume they won’t with you.) But I’m guessing the “better” a school the more likely it is they’d be troubled by it.

Just explain yourself, be upfront, express that you regret it – assuming you do – and you’ll be fine. The world isn’t looking for reasons to hurt you.

I hope things work out for you bro.

Southern Methodist University is the school I am transferring to. Columbia College Chicago is the school I am transferring from.

They can revoke your admission anytime…your admission is conditional

Do you really believe you won’t PASS? There’s a big difference between completely failing and coming out with a GPA lower than usual; they’ll usually be more forgiving of the latter.
