2 Math classes in one year? You must be joking?

I'm doing it :O

chance me please!

I think you have a fantastic chance at all of them, I really wouldn't be surprised if you didn't get a single rejection. I think you'll definitely get in Emory and NYU, and NWU, U of Chicago and Chapel Hill are all pretty reasonable reaches.

Thank you. I was expecting maybe some worse chances after going through all of CC comparing myself :O.

seeing how you take a lot of aps and honors courses, a weighted 3.94 would prolly b e like a 2.94-3.2 unweighted? hate to break it to you but because your GPA isn't that high, and your SAT's english kind of low, those schools you listed are probably all reachs. I mean, your aps are going to help you, but not that much... however your work hours are impressive!

It's about a 3.65 UW. We only get a couple points for AP courses, not gifted in weighted GPA.

bump for anyone else willing to give me some chance

NYU- Match
UNC-CH (oos) - High match
Emory ED - High match
Emory RD - Low reach
Northwestern - Reach
UChicago - Low reach

BTW consider applying EA to UChicago if you end up not doing Emory ED

^I said low reach because of UChicago's 38% acceptance rate, but I realized applicants are deeply self-selective there...perhaps a reach.

That's what I'm really trying to decide right now is if I want to send an ED to Emory. Now, can I send an EA to UofC and an ED to Emory as well in case the ED For Emory isn't accepted?

You are going to want to contact your admissions rep for UChicago and Emory for that answer.. It differs between schools.

another5005 - Why are you a clone of me? Are you like my brother from another mother? This is kinda creepy, I am Chinese and I live in Georgia too. See my thread http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/543298-chance-relatively-weak-asian-09er-please-i-will-chance-you-back.html

You will get into Emory, pretty sure. And also you should get into NYU and UNC Chapel Hill. Northwestern and UChicago are kinda reaches, you have a decent chance at them but their applicants are going to be just as talented as you, but I don't know, try to maybe get some leadership. Work on application essays and get good recs. Your internships looks unique and cool though, and wow you have worked quite a bunch... how did you get the internship and what do you do there?

Btw, what school in Georgia do you go to? I go to Walton.

I go to North Gwinnett, it's in the outskirts of Atlanta. Well I stay in Dalton, Georgia in the summer mostly and my mom knew someone who worked for a smallish business (25-30 employees) and she wanted to know if I wanted an unpaid internship doing small things (filing, learning to do sales with large amounts of money, researching). 800+ isn't that much if you think about it. It's 10-11 months working at ~25 hours a week which is what a lot of high schoolers do anyways.

I noticed you're applying to Emory and Tech as well so maybe I'll see you next year lol.
