No at grimes I am semester so What if I drop with a W will TAG be revoked. So I should not put classes that I will try to add on the update correct because they assume I will pass with a letter grade. So when I don’t get the class my TAG will be revoked right?

@Pianocat: Do you need the class to satisfy IGETC? Also, semester classes are entering their 2nd or 3rd week now, so shouldn’t you already know whether or not you’re in the class?

Call your admissions office at the UC you’re applying to and ask what happens if you don’t get in the class but had it listed on the January update. I doubt it’ll be a problem if you don’t end up getting in the class and you’ve already satisfied IGETC, but if you get in and don’t pass… yeah that’s bad.

EDIT: I guess I’m confused. Why would you drop with a W if you don’t know whether or not you’ll be able to make it into the class?

oh sorry for the confusion, i already finished all my TAG requirements such as IGETC,math, english, and i have a 3.0 GPA currently

1st situation:The problem is i will be missing some prereqs for my major. I will try to add the classes next semester but what if i don’t get in and i listed it as planned for spring. Then UCSD and UCI will send a similar letter like davis telling me to finish but i couldn’t get in, Thus revoking my TAG correct?

2nd situation: what if i do get in and when UCSD and UCI send that letter to finish those classes but i end up getting a W, will my TAG be revoked as well?

The reason why i am asking both situations is because i don’t want to list these classes as my planned all in one semester because it will be to hard, (physics,chem1b,math5b,stat50,bio1c). If they will send a letter telling me to finish all my planned courses i rather play it safe and take what i can possibly handle which is just (stats50,chem1b, and possible math5b but i have to try to add math5b the first day thats why i doubt i’m going to get it. which is the 1st situation. so i’m looking at 2 classes i am already registered in for spring.

all and all i will be missing some prereqs

^ the reason why i’m so concern is because i listed bio 1c for TAG when i applied for TAG with DAVIS. Then Davis sent that letter which everyone got that applied for TAG with them, telling them to finish the classes planned with a specific grade or higher. For my community college Chem 1b (which i’m planning to take during spring) is a prereq for Bio 1c so i cant take both in the same time. Thus voiding my TAG for UC Davis because i can’t finish bio 1c which they requested me to finish to furfill my TAG with them. I don’t want this situation to happen to UCI or UCSD because UCSD is my first choice.

Thanks again grimes

@Pianocat:

1st situation: Ok, that’s where I’m confused. If you’re on the semester system, you shouldn’t have another semester. You have spring, and that’s it, unless you’re talking about summer… but I don’t think summer schedules are even up yet.

2nd situation: They certainly could revoke you. I don’t know if they actually would since you’d already be done with IGETC and you don’t need the courses to fulfill your transfer work, but they’re pretty clear about requiring transfers to abide by the courses they set forth on their updates.
