So I am applying to Yale early, but I was concerned about how my AP Physics grade would affect my admissions chances.
I have had high grades (>90) in all my classes throughout high school and have taken multiple APs. I also have very high SAT scores and have multiple leadership positions and all that jazz. I don't mean to come off as over worrying or pretentious, but I have ~72 in Physics right now and want to know how it will affect my chances. Thanks.

btw I am of Indian descent, if that makes a difference

Looks like if you have the C now Yale will not see it until after you are accepted (if SCEA). I don’t think they’ll turn you away if you’ve had straight A’s through all of high school and get 1 C.

I agree that if this grade doesn’t appear until after you are accepted SCEA, then it is highly unlikely to result in them rescinding your application.

But–and this is the answer to all questions like this: Anything bad hurts your chances, and anything good helps your chances. For most things, how much it hurts or helps depends on the overall context of your application. If you are a true superstar in some particular area, a few weak grades might make no difference at all, but if you are competing against a lot of students very similar to you, a few weak grades might make a big difference.
