One C in a quarter, am I doomed?

The year has ended and due to recent events have not been able to bring up my chemistry honors grade. It is a C this quarter, making the semester grade 1 point away from a B. I want to go to chapel Hill and study linguistics, will this end my chances? My other classes are

Bio Honors - A
French II - A
Marketing - A
Math II - A
Chem Honors - C
English II Honors - A
American history I Honors - A

I understand it can be decided by extracurriculars as well:

-Member of key club
-volunteer at my public library and lapidary museum
-member of DECA
-member of French club
-maintaining a job throughout high school
-piano

I am a sophomore if it helps, and have made 92+ on all final exams.

It’s honors that’s the good news, here’s what you can do, either explain your complication in that class with your personal essay, this is the easiest option and I don’t think will help a lot, or take AP chem and get a B or an A in it, this will make the officials look past your chem x grade with improvement.

Find out what shows up on your transcript. My D’s school only showed final grades for each course. Quarter grades were never shown and semester grades were only shown for 1/2 year courses. Find out what yours will show before you get too upset about it. Its possible that no one will see it.

As an aside, I’m not sure what you mean by your semester grade being one point away from a B. Do you mean your semester average is a high C or a low A?
