Its going to be a C in an AP class. i've never gotten below an A on any final grade..and all my other grades will be B+ or higher on the midyear report. i'm applying to mostly ivies and i'm worried that this grade will greatly diminish my chances...what do you guys think?

What class?

I'm in the same position, a C in college microeconomics (a one-semester course)...I'd love to know this answer too.

AP LIT. i slacked off a lot this quarter

but AP Lang and Comp. last year, i got an A+ final grade

You can't tell what will affect the decisions. You will never find out either what got you in, or what kept you out. Apply and hope for the best.

bump, any others?

buggin' out bump

Don't worry. It just sounds like a moderate case of senioritis - no big deal... there's nothing you can do anymore

You can now only get into georgetown

Since you are applying to a top college, that C will definitely hurt your chances. Just hope for the best.

^Well, you could always speak to the teacher about a grade-change.

yeah i'm trying but she's pretty hard. i spread myself too thin with extra curricula things and english work is hard to make up

omg, i'm sorry to inform you that you will end up at duke or chicago!

I am in the same situation. I got a C in my AP Bio II class for midyear and am extremely worried about how it will be viewed by my colleges.

3 Bs in AP CALC, AP CHEM, AP MICRO

A in AP ENGLISH LIT
A in SPANISH III
A IN CHINESE
A in CATHOLIC LIT

Imma kill myself....no more cornell for me

What about not grade-grubbing? Hmm...

it's just a c in a sea of your many a's. why bother? can't be a jackie of all trades.

Dude, chill. There are probably 1,000 kids with better stats than you who will be applying to Cornell.

That's life man. Make yourself stand out, grades are just a requirement.

it might not be a positive thing, but you certainly won't be rejected solely on the fact you got senioritis.

You got a C?

Automatic rejection right there. Don't you know a C stands for "Castrated"?

No, seriously, stop with this nonsense. No application decision hangs on to whether you got a C or not in ONE class. If you got rejected this C will be the least of the reasons.
